I live in Nebraska with my husband and kids, three dogs, and my beloved blue and gold macaw, Tuco. Birds have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember—I’ve kept many different kinds as pets over the years, and my passion for aviculture has only grown. I've spent years researching, learning, and connecting with avian professionals all over the midwest to ensure that I am providing the very best care to my birds, and I cant wait to share everything I have learned with others. In 2012, I created a Facebook group dedicated to bird lovers, which grew to over 2,000 members. However, as Facebook’s regulations changed, running the group became difficult—particularly with their restrictions on discussions involving the buying and selling of live animals. To ensure our community had a safe and stable space to connect, I decided to create Midwest Squawk Talk. Here, my goal is to provide a welcoming, educational, and ethical space for bird enthusiasts of all backgrounds. Whether you’re a new bird owner or a longtime parrot expert, this forum is for you!
