Midwest Squawk Talk - Forum Guidelines
Welcome to Midwest Squawk Talk! To ensure a positive and respectful community for all members, we ask that you follow these guidelines. Failure to do so may result in warnings, post removal, or account suspension.
1. General Conduct
- Be respectful to all members. No personal attacks, name-calling, or harassment.
- Keep discussions civil. Debates are welcome, but arguments, hostility, or excessive negativity will not be tolerated.
- No threats, intimidation, racism, discrimination, or hate speech. Violations will result in immediate suspension or banning.
- No spamming or excessive self-promotion. Business promotions for avian-related products/services must be posted in designated areas if applicable.
- Use family-friendly language. No excessive profanity, sexually explicit material, or graphic violence.
- If you see a post that violates these guidelines, please click the 'Report' button so moderators can review it.
2. Classifieds & Transactions
- Only Gold Members may sell birds in the Classifieds section.
- All items listed must belong to the seller—no stolen or misrepresented property.
- Scams, fraudulent activity, and unethical sales practices are strictly prohibited.
- Mark listings as "Sold" or remove them when no longer available.
- Midwest Squawk Talk is not responsible for transactions between users. Buyers and sellers should conduct due diligence before engaging in any sale.
- We reserve the right to remove classified listings and take action, including account suspension or removal, against users who attempt to commit fraud or scams.
3. Animal Welfare
- No hoarding, neglect, or unethical mass acquisition of birds. Members found to be repeatedly acquiring birds under false pretenses (e.g., purchasing "pet only" birds for breeding or reselling in unethical conditions) may be subject to review, warnings, or removal from the community.
- Midwest Squawk Talk reserves the right to ban members involved in known or suspected animal abuse, hoarding, or other unethical practices. Reports of such behavior will be taken seriously and may result in immediate action.
- Reports of animal abuse, hoarding, or neglect may be forwarded to local law enforcement or appropriate animal welfare authorities.
- Anyone posting as an animal rescue or shelter must have appropriate documentation to prove the legitimacy of their operation if requested.
- No promotion of animal abuse, neglect, or unethical breeding practices.
- Discussions of breeding should focus on responsible, ethical practices.
- No sales or giveaways of sick, injured, or neglected birds.
- Reports of unethical behavior may result in account suspension or banning.
4. Content & Posting Guidelines
- Stay on topic. Posts must be relevant to the forum category.
- Do not share false or misleading information. Citations or sources of information are highly encouraged, especially for care, health, or breeding advice. Misinformation that is deemed harmful may be removed at moderator discretion.
- Respect copyright laws. Do not post copyrighted material without permission.
- If you see content that is inappropriate or misleading, please report it.
- Forum guidelines may be updated as needed. Significant changes will be announced in the Community Hub.
5. Account Responsibility
- You are responsible for all activity on your account.
- Do not share your login credentials or impersonate others.
